What's a Weekend?

Sometimes the work week can easily blend into the weekends and boundaries get muddled.

For the last month or so, my wife and I decided to make some intentional changes around this by attending a Yin Yoga class together every Friday evening.

Yin Yoga provides a unique environment that encourages deep relaxation and introspection.

Unlike more dynamic forms of yoga, Yin focuses on holding passive poses for extended periods, allowing for a profound release of tension in both body and mind.

Combined with a peaceful warm environment, aromatherapy and soothing sounds, the gentle, meditative nature of Yin Yoga creates an ideal setting for letting go of the week's stresses.

By the time we finish and sit down for dinner, we’re both in this present and relaxed state, feeling very connected.

Being a business owner, boundaries around personal and professional life can get blurred or worse, evaporate.

(Full disclosure; I still do some writing over the weekend which does not ‘feel like work’ ;)

I encourage you all to find your own "Yin Yoga" - whatever activity or practice helps you transition from work mode to weekend mode. Whether it's a shared hobby, a quiet walk in nature, or simply dedicated time for conversation, the key is to be intentional about creating that space for relaxation and connection.

Let's make our weekends count by starting them right.
