🔅 You got a vision.
🔅 You got a dream.
🔅 You're living your life with purpose.
How do you maintain momentum when driving towards something new?
One thing that can drain you more than failure itself, is 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆.
Negativity from:
🔅 Friends and colleagues
🔅 Loved ones
🔅 In teams (be careful with this…it can fester like an infection)
Negativity (or s@$t) can chip away at your confidence and make you question what you are doing….and the people you’re interacting with will feel that.
The other killer is the negativity between your own ears.
This reminds of that famous quote from Henry Ford.
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re probably right”
But if you’re clear on your vision and your purpose, why you’re working towards these goals, this will push you past the doubts and the likely unreasonable expectations of how fast you want things to happen.
So, leave the manure for your plants…move away from it and call it out on those around you.
Surround yourself with positivity:
🔅 Stay committed to yourself, your purpose and your vision.
🔅 Seek out mentors, coaches, people who believe in you and what you’re doing.
Vision and Purpose are a powerful force and in my experience they are contagious to those around you.
I had self doubt when I first started performing, my first software engineering job, fighting cancer, becoming a father, starting businesses (some failed, some succeeded)…
In every case,
🔅 it was not a straight line.
🔅 It was a bumpy road
🔅 …and it turned out better than I could have imagined.
