This is great reminder that we always have a choice to learn and get better...and it almost always requires an outside perspective. Something about this reminds me of Joshua Waitzkin's book, The Art of Learning where is he always looked to train with someone who was better than him. You get to the next level, find the next person who can take you further.

I particularly liked how you pointed out the unconscious and conscious piece...the new skills feel awkward at first and eventually become natural.
