As an executive and leadership coach, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of breaking free from limiting beliefs. These mental barriers often hold executives back, preventing them from reaching their full potential in both their personal and professional lives.
🔅 "I’m not good enough."
🔅 "I don’t have enough time."
🔅 "I must be perfect."
🔅 "I can’t change."
🔅 “I should be thinner."
That last one always seems to be around no matter how in shape people seem to be?
These old stories often have some element of truth to them…but they are also coming from a vantage point of some gap from where you are now to where you want to be.
Time to challenge these and ‘reframe’ them into new stories!
These are some techniques for creating new stories and new energy for moving past these limiting beliefs:
🔅 Reframing: Challenge the validity of your limiting beliefs. For example, instead of thinking "I’m not good enough," ask yourself, "What evidence do I have that proves I’m capable and competent?" Replace the negative belief with a positive affirmation.
🔅 Visualization: Visualize yourself achieving your goals and succeeding despite the limiting belief. Create a mental image of the desired outcome and revisit it regularly.
🔅 Anchoring: Use anchoring techniques to associate positive emotions with new empowering beliefs. For instance, recall a moment when you felt confident and successful, and use a physical anchor, like pressing your thumb and forefinger together, to trigger that positive state when needed.
🔅 Language Patterns: Pay attention to the language you use. Replace negative language with positive, empowering words. Instead of saying, "I can’t," say, "I choose to," or "I will."
I’ve used these techniques to help manifest all kinds of things that were out of my default belief system...
From starting my first business, to building a home in a town I used to dream about living in, to having a business where I get to help people grow and accelerate their dreams and aspirations.
If you’re stuck focusing on the gap from where you are to where you want to be, it’s time to change your old stories to new ones.
Break free!
