Being ok With Being ok

The picture is me eating the last of our “Munker”, a Norwegian pastry that a few of my family members made for us for the trip home.

I knew we had a long trip but had not anticipated that it would be 22 hours end to end!

My first day back at work after a long holiday; I was depleted, uninspired and my inner voice was telling me to go lie down…get some rest…cancel everything…it can wait until tomorrow.

Anytime this kind of energy is in my body, I shift the thoughts and remind myself that the most important things NOT getting done, cause the most angst and stress.

But, I did need to do something to get me into a state where I could be present…not 100% but at least ok.

And for this day, I had to be ok with being ok.

My routine:

🔅 Went outside for some sunshine and fresh air

🔅Did some light exercise: 20m on recumbent bike

🔅Did some boxed breathing:

Breath in for a 4 count

 Hold for a 4 count

Breath out for a 4 count

 Hold for a 4 count

🔅Did 20 minutes of meditation

🔅Splashed some cold water on my face and sat in my chair to start the day.

In the end, I kept all my commitments for the day and achieved most of my tasks.

How do you stay focused when you’re depleted?
